Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order stating that In 16 regions of Russia, including the Astrakhan region and Chechnya, new military training centers will be created at state higher educational institutions.

The Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Agriculture will create military training centers.

According to the current legislation, in such training centers, you can either undergo in-depth training and, after graduating from a university, go to serve in the army under a contract for an officer position or, as before, get basic military knowledge and become an officer or a reserve soldier (those in reserve may be subject to call for mobilization - but not for military service).

As previously reported by Caucasus Watch, Sergey Kiriyenko, the First Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration, Yury Trutnev, the Deputy Prime Minister, and Daniil Martynov, the Advisor to the Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, got acquainted with the process of preparing a volunteer detachment of the Russian Union of Martial Arts Soyuz, which united fighters from 17 regions of the Russian Federation. The soldiers have been trained at the Russian University of Special Forces in Gudermes since early December. Training will end on January 5, after which they will go to the so-called special operation zone.
