Several YouTube videos regarding the Russian army's casualties during the war in Ukraine were censored by the Kirov Court of Makhachkala at the request of the Military Prosecutor. The Prosecutor's Office believes that the information given by the Ukrainian side was false.

According to the administrative lawsuit, "As part of the monitoring of the Internet network, a website was identified that contains prohibited information intended to discredit the military personnel of the Russian Federation, as well as deliberately unreliable information distributed under the guise of reliable reports (fake news) about the activities of the military personnel of the Russian Ministry of Defense on the territory of Ukraine."

The Prosecutor's Office stated that this information, despite the evidence and confirmed facts, is unreliable; therefore, they demanded through the court to block the video for users from Russia. The administrative defendant in the case has not been identified. As a result, the claim was satisfied; the videos were recognized as "aimed at discrediting the military personnel of the Russian Federation" and blocked.

Notably, one of the videos blocked in Russia is a four-minute episode of the Ukrainian TV channel Freedom. "Losses of the Russian army in Ukraine Real numbers." It refers to the concealment by the leadership of Russia of the number of dead military personnel. The video contains the opinions of military experts and appeals from relatives of the dead service members - data that the authorities are hiding.
