On November 11, Aykhan Hajizada, the new Spokesman of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, stated that an attempt by Nikol Pashinyan, the Prime Minister of Armenia, during his speech on November 10, 2022, at the government meeting, to distort the speech of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Shusha of November 8, and create an impression that Azerbaijan has not fulfilled its obligations is wholly groundless and unacceptable.

Rumors About Dissolution of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic

On November 1, Azerbaijan’s Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan abolished its State Security Service (SSS) structure. It will be replaced by the newly formed Nakhchivani branch of Azerbaijan’s State Security Service. Additionally, Mohshun Ashurov was appointed as the Head of the new organization.

“Caucasus Watch” is seeking local specialists from Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and the North Caucasus region, to assist our research endeavours and help enrich our content.

“Caucasus Watch” is an independent platform, which provides coverage of recent developments in various locations of the Caucasus region for the German and overall European stakeholders. We are an international team of Caucasus enthusiasts and are currently looking for local contributors who focus on social, economic, political and security dynamics of the said region.
