Nika Melia: "In Case of Negative Decision Against Saakashvili, We Will Have to Decide Whether Accept Reality or Not"

On December 9, United National Movement (UNM) Chair Nika Melia said that although it would be regrettable, he anticipates the court will reject the delay of ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili's punishment.

"The former president's family and imprisoned Mikheil Saakashvili's thoughts on how to move forward with the plan that they had been working on for the previous four months would be the first things he would learn, he added, adding that everyone should decide whether or not to accept the reality if it occurs," he added. Since multiple expert groups had to publish their findings due to Mikheil Saakashvili's deteriorating health, he said, "We were naturally in collaboration with this strategy."

Notably, the ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili's penalty postponement trial has been postponed. During the trial, the court obtained the Public Defender's view and other papers, which he believes will require time to analyze.
