Armen Grigoryan Meets Indian Prime Minister's Security Advisor

On November 18, Armen Grigoryan, the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, met with Ajit Doval, the National Security Adviser of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Samant Kumar Goel, the head of India's Foreign Intelligence Service, was also present at the meeting.

"The interlocutors emphasized with satisfaction the importance of high-level bilateral Armenian-Indian mutual visits and welcomed the developing bilateral cooperation in the security field. The parties agreed to contribute to the speedy implementation of the agreements reached in the field of security," the message stated.

As previously reported by Caucasus Watch, India will supply Armenia with a large consignment of weapons and ammunition worth almost $250 million. It is noted that relevant contracts were signed between the two countries' governments in early September. The cost of the contracts was not disclosed.

Furthermore, the Armed Forces of Armenia were negotiating the purchase of uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) and other military products from India. For this purpose, the delegation representing the Ministry of Defense of Armenia went to India in June this year and met with its Indian partners. During the meeting, the delegation of Armenia presented a list of weapons and equipment they wanted to buy from India. Giving a brief statement about the content of the list without going into details, the Indian official said that the list mainly draws attention to UAVs and that there are not only UAVs on that list.
