On November 2, Nika Melia, the leader of the opposition United National Movement party, stated that he believes that abdicating legislative responsibilities should be connected to a specific goal. "The party would naturally take this move if such were the case," he added.

Melia asserted that ongoing cooperation with democratic opposition groups was nothing new in recent years. He said, "The opposition should collaborate on judicial reforms, sound investment policies, and European ideas." However, Melia argued that it would be premature and unrealistic to combine the opposition under a single consolidated election ticket at this time.

Melia responded to Girchi-More Freedom Party Leader Zurab Japaridze's remarks on the need for opposition unity, stating that collaboration is more significant than merging into a single political organization since unification and cooperation are two separate things. "I am glad that three political parties have merged. I would be thrilled if they combined into one company. Three political parties coming together to form one will give each of them more power. The decision they made would be respected. It is dangerous to suggest combining the three parties and the United National Movement into one entity. This will not contribute to overthrowing Ivanishvili's administration and may instead make it stronger," the leader of the opposition United National Movement party stated.
