Javier Colomina Meets Georgian President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister

Meeting with Salome Zourabichvili

On September 27, Salome Zourabichvili, the President of Georgia, met with Javier Colomina, the NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia and NATO's Deputy Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs and Security Policy. 

Javier Colomina underlined NATO's unshakable support for Georgia's territorial integrity, sovereignty, and aspirations for Euro-Atlantic integration.

The President and NATO's Special Representative went through the evolution of Georgia's relationship with NATO as well as Georgia's function in the security environment of the Black Sea area. The diplomats talked about Georgia's European outlook and the necessity of democratic changes and depolarization to carry out the EC's suggested 12-point goals. The opposition and the ruling party's collaborative efforts, backed by most of the populace, were highlighted in the EU integration process. 

Meeting with Irakli Garibashvili

Irakli Garibashvili, the Prime Minister of Georgia, met with Javier Colomina. The main topics of their meeting included Georgia's progress toward Euro-Atlantic integration and the important directions on the agenda for NATO-Georgia relations, according to the Government Administration. 

Irakli Garibashvili and Javier Colomina discussed Georgia-specific supportive measures and efforts to increase the nation's defense capabilities. The new NATO Strategic Concept attracted attention. As previously mentioned, the idea reiterates NATO's steadfast support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity. It highlights the Black Sea's strategic significance to the Alliance. The ongoing war in Ukraine and the complicated security situation in the area and throughout the world were discussed. Irakli Garibashvili and Javier Colomina examined the situation in Georgia's occupied regions. The commitment of the Georgian government to the practice of nonviolent conflict resolution was reiterated by the prime minister.

The Prime Minister asserted that Georgia has consistently been among the Alliance's most dependable and capable allies, significantly enhancing collective Euro-Atlantic security. Irakli Garibashvili emphasized that Georgia has made tremendous strides in Euro-Atlantic integration over the years. 

Meeting with Ilia Darchiashvili

During the meeting, NATO Special Representative Colomina and Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili discussed the essential facets of collaboration between NATO and Georgia. 

The diplomats discussed the significance of swiftly putting Georgia's Madrid Summit resolutions into effect. 

The two parties also considered the security situation in the area and the importance of NATO's unflinching support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
