South Ossetia/Tskhinvali Region to Open Crossing Points Monthly

According to the Press Office of the separatist government of South Ossetia, the Security Council of the Republic of South Ossetia met on August 18. The agenda included the issue of allowing entry to the separatist Republic of South Ossetia and exit to Georgia for residents of settlements in the Akhalgori and Java regions of the Republic of South Ossetia from the 20th to the 30th of each month through the checkpoints Razdakhani (Odzisi) and Pereu (Perevi).

De-facto South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev noted that at the request of the citizens of the Leningor (Akhalhori) and Dzau (Java) districts, the administrations of those districts applied to consider this issue, and an appeal was also received from a member of the de-facto Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia.

Crossing through those checkpoints will be possible with special passes. The working hours at the crossing points "Razdakhan" and "Pereu" will be from the 20th to the 30th day of each month from 09:00 to 19:00 (MSK). Additionally, it was decided to allow crossing the administrative border with Georgia until November 30, 2022, with expired passes due to the fact that the border crossing points were closed for a long period.
