On July 29, Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili visited Hungary and met with the Foreign Minister of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó, the Press Office of the Georgian Foreign Ministry reported.

"I am glad that introducing a simplified employment mechanism for Georgian citizens in the most demanding sectors of Hungary is one of the main topics of our bilateral agenda. I thank the Hungarian partners for their readiness to include Georgia in the list of countries that benefit from the simplified procedures. This fact is another clear confirmation of Hungary's unwavering support for our country," Ilia Darchiashvili said at the joint press conference after the audience.

The ministers agreed that extra efforts would be made to implement the aforementioned decision of the Hungarian government. The ministers also reviewed Georgia and Hungary's fruitful collaboration in a variety of spheres, including the economy, tourism, education, and people-to-people relations. Additionally, the foreign minister promised to convene an intergovernmental economic commission by the end of the year, which would provide new opportunities in this area.

During the meeting with the Hungarian counterpart, a significant part of the conversation was devoted to the European integration process of Georgia."The recognition of the European perspective of Georgia is a historical fact by which the European Union confirmed that Georgia is a European state and it will become a member of the European Union. This is the recognition of the progress achieved over the years and the high level of integration that exists today between Georgia and the European Union," Ilia Darchiashvili emphasized. He thanked his counterpart for Hungary's strong support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
