On July 18, Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, discussed the situation in the South Caucasus with the head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergey Naryshkin. According to the Press Service of the Armenian government, at a meeting in Yerevan, Pashinyan and Naryshkin considered regional and international security issues, touching upon the processes taking place in Transcaucasia.
The Prime Minister noted that Naryshkin's visit is another opportunity to discuss issues on the agenda of the Armenian-Russian allied relations. In turn, the head of Russian foreign intelligence stated that the high level of political dialogue between Yerevan and Moscow aimed at developing partnerships in various fields.
Earlier, the Director of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), William Burns, paid a surprise visit to Yerevan. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a meeting with the head of American Foreign Intelligence. The interlocutors discussed international and regional security issues and the fight against terrorism. The processes taking place in the South Caucasus region were touched upon, the Press Service of the Armenian Cabinet reported.
