SOCAR and Uzbekneftegaz consider working together to explore and produce hydrocarbons in Azerbaijan

The Uzbek Ministry of Energy reported that discussions for mutually beneficial cooperation took place during meetings with SOCAR representatives. The parties work closely together to trade experiences and teach new employees.

As a result, during a working visit to Azerbaijan in September 2021, experts from Uzbekneftegaz JSC looked at SOCAR's resource management system, dispatch control system, solutions for labor automation and for monitoring and controlling production processes.

SOCAR personnel intends to provide training in sophisticated hydrocarbon processing at Uzbekneftegaz's gas chemical facilities. SOCAR representatives declared their readiness to accept 10 Uzbekneftegaz JSC professionals for advanced training at their facilities and to offer scholarships for two workers to enroll in the master's program at the SOCAR Higher School during the meeting.

Both sides also agreed to rush the creation of a trading house in Dubai, enabling them to pursue new markets actively.

Uzbekneftegaz collaborated with SOCAR on large-scale renewable energy projects based on public-private partnerships and competitive bidding.
