“Armenia has repeatedly stated that it is consistent in advancing the peace agenda and that Azerbaijan's proposals are acceptable to it - of course, on the condition that they will be supplemented by our proposals,” said Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, commenting on the statement of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev that the Armenian side has not yet responded to Baku's proposal to start work on preparing a peace treaty.

Mirzoyan noted that through the OSCE Minsk Group, the Armenian side conveyed its proposals for a peace treaty to Azerbaijan. However, he added that there was still no official response from Baku. "That is, contrary to the statements of the President of Azerbaijan, Armenia not only did not reject but also reacted positively to the proposal to start negotiations on a peace treaty, and today it is waiting for Azerbaijan's response," Mirzoyan said. He added that the Armenian side also submitted a proposal to start consultations between the foreign ministers on this topic but has not yet received a response.

"Armenia once again reaffirms its readiness to start consultations on signing a peace treaty a day earlier," the Foreign Minister stressed.

Moreover, Mirzoyan refused to comment on the statement by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov regarding the OSCE Minsk Group. Answering the relevant question of journalists on the sidelines of the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, Mirzoyan said that there would be no interviews. "But there will be a comment from the ministry," he promised.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, at a joint press conference with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov in Baku, said: “We did not discuss the OSCE Minsk Group in today's [June 24] talks because the Minsk Group has suspended its activities."
