The U.S. and Armenian delegation met to discuss border security and collaboration in the defence and security sector, including disaster management, defence reform, medical assistance, and peacekeeping. The delegations of the two countries "exchanged views on security matters and noted the US' role as a Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, which has a mandate to facilitate a peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," according to a joint statement released by the US and Armenian governments during the the US-Armenia Strategic Dialogue.

Donfried emphasised the US's vigorous help and cooperation to the Armenian government in creating responsive democratic and economic institutions that both represent their common values and produce greater governance and prosperity, according to the joint statement. The delegations conducted an in-depth discussion about US support for Armenia's favourable democratic trajectory. Human rights, media literacy, social protection, justice system changes, and the new Patrol Police Service are all part of this.

The delegates also addressed ways to improve judicial impartiality and freedom of expression. Mechanisms to foster mutual prosperity in the economic realm, such as energy cooperation and workforce development to encourage and deepen bilateral commerce and investment, were also a hot topic of debate.

Mirzoyan and the Armenian team also met with Samantha Power, USAID Administrator, and Victoria Nuland, Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, among others. Members of the group signed several papers while in Washington, including a Nuclear Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding, which will serve as a vehicle for the governments to strengthen relations between nuclear professionals, industries, and researchers. According to the joint statement, the US and Armenia also inked two collaborative action plans on anti-corruption and law enforcement measures.
