The Secretary of Armenia's Security Council Armen Grigoryan met in Tbilisi with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri.

According to PM Garibashvili's press service, the Armenian official and the Georgian PM addressed Russia's war against Ukraine as well as the situation in the South Caucasus, emphasising the need for peace and stability in the region. Garibashvili informed the Armenian official that Georgia is ready to contribute to the South Caucasus nations' conversation on issues such as economics, commerce, and culture.

The parties discussed Georgia's Peaceful Neighbourhood Initiative, a proposed framework for confidence-building in the South Caucasus that includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, the United States, and the European Union. Meanwhile, during their discussion, the Armenian official and Georgian Interior Minister Gomelauri, who is also the Secretary of the National Security Council, emphasised the need of strengthening bilateral security cooperation.

A few days ago, Karen Andreasyan, Armenia's Justice Minister, also met with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and his counterpart Rati Bregadze in Tbilisi. According to the Georgian Government's press agency, Minister Andreasyan and Prime Minister Garibashvili emphasised their willingness to expand bilateral cooperation in the fields of justice, human rights, and public services. In addition, the two officials discussed the security situation in the South Caucasus in the context of Russia's conflict against Ukraine, with both parties emphasising the necessity of joint efforts to ensure regional peace and stability.

Moreover, on April 29-30, within the framework of his official visit to Armenia, the FM of Georgia met with the President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturian. Darchiashvili thanked Khachaturian for the high interest and actions expressed in the issue of further deepening of relations between the two countries. The two sides praised the close friendly relations between Georgia and Armenia and reviewed the positive dynamics in all areas of bilateral cooperation. The Georgian FM also thanked the Armenian leadership for the unwavering support of Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and stressed the importance of peace and stability for the sustainable development of the region.
