Aslan Bzhania met Lavrov and Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak
Aslan Bzhania, the Kremlin-backed Abkhaz leader, met in Moscow with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
Bzhania vowed the seized region's support for Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in a meeting with Moscow's senior ambassador.
"The vast majority of our people accept this required step," he stated, emphasising that Abkhazia inhabitants recognise the significance of the so-called "special operation."
Sukhumi has recognised Ukraine's Russian-occupied Luhansk and Donetsk as autonomous, according to the Abkhaz chief, and has given humanitarian aid to its residents. In addition, Abkhazia is hosting 150 evacuees from the regions, according to Bzhania.
Meanwhile, Lavrov told Bzhania that Moscow and Sukhumi must stay together in the face of the West's "relentless endeavour" to "keep its supremacy in international affairs, to govern everything and everyone, and to restore the unipolar world."
"These aspirations produce the most significant friction in international relations," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said, adding that Moscow and its partners are "resisting this."
Moscow is also delighted with "political and military discussion, military-technical and defence cooperation, collaboration in trade, economic and investment fields, and humanitarian and cultural relations" with Sokhumi, according to the Russian FM.
Inal Ardzinba met with Dmitry Peskov
Inal Ardzinba, the de facto Foreign Minister of Russian-occupied Abkhazia, met with Dmitry Peskov, Russian President Vladimir Putin's press secretary in Moscow.
According to Ardzinba's press office, Peskov and Ardzinba discussed Russian technology aid in modernising information sites and systems in the occupied territory, as well as internship chances for Abkhaz youth in Putin's press agency.
The Abkhaz envoy also met with Ruslan Edelgeriyev, Vladimir Putin's advisor and special representative on climate matters, yesterday. The two talked about the possibility of Abkhaz officials engaging in international debate platforms on green economy and sustainable agriculture, among other things.
