Protest in front of US Embassy in Yerevan demanding they stop supporting Ukraine

A group of Armenian activists held a protest in front of the US Embassy in Yerevan, demanding they stop supporting the regime in Ukraine.

“Our fathers gave their lives to destroy fascism. Today he raised his head again. What is happening in Ukraine is not a war for the sake of territory, but an operation in defence of values, culture, and traditions. A Russian soldier and general are fighting against fascism, and we are obliged to support them and say that they are not alone,” one of the participants in the protest event told reporters.

A group of citizens of the republic came to the building of the American embassy with posters that read "denazification", "no to Anglo-Saxon Nazism", "no to the empire of lies." Armenian anti-fascists demanded that the US and NATO stop supporting the authorities in Kyiv, as well as abandon sanctions against Russia and its allies.

Further, the participants of the action, as a sign of support, marched to the Russian embassy in the centre of the Armenian capital.

This is the third action in support of Russia organised in Armenia. Last week, Armenian communists held a demonstration outside the building of the Russian diplomatic mission. On March 8, a combo action was also held: first, a huge figure of eight, the symbol of International Women's Day, was made from lamps, and then it was transformed into the Latin letters Z and V - symbols of Russia's special military operation to demilitarise and “de-nazify” Ukraine.
