In Azerbaijan, regular passenger bus to start operating to the Karabakh

Azerbaijani citizens will be able to visit Shusha and Agdam from January 24.

Anar Rzayev, head of the State Motor Transport Service (DANX) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, said that bus tickets will be sold online in the coming days.

Baku-Shusha will cost 10.4 manat (about 5 euros), Baku-Agdam buses will cost 9.4 manat (about 5 euros), Ahmadbeyli-Shusha-Ahmadbeyli (express) will cost 7 manat (about 4 euros), Barda-Agdam (express) will cost 5 manat (about 2.50 euros), and Fizuli BHL-Shusha (express) will cost 6 manat (about 3 euros).

Flights will be organised on the Ahmadbeyli-Shusha route 4 times a week, and twice in other directions. The operation of the Fizuli International Airport-Shusha bus route will be coordinated with flights.

Rahman Hummatov, an official at the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, who attended the briefing, said that now everyone wants to travel to Karabakh, but the number of buses does not allow it.

He stressed that this is the reason why each person must visit once a year.

According to the official, the number of buses may be increased during the process.

Hummatov said that so far these visits belong only to the citizens of the country: "In the future, if necessary, tourist trips will be organised for foreigners."

Certain privileged people have the opportunity to get free tickets to these destinations once a year. This category includes heroes of the Second Karabakh war, national heroes, members of the families of martyrs, and invalids of the war. All people, including privileged persons, have the right to visit the liberated territories only once a year.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the permit of the person who bought a ticket for these flights starts from the same date. In addition, the buses will be accompanied by police.
