During his two-day visit to Budapest, Georgian Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze met with four-star General Richard D. Clarke, Commander of the United States Special Operations Command, according to the Defence Ministry.

According to the same article, the parties addressed bilateral defence collaboration, notably between the US and Georgian special operations units.

In this context, Minister Burchuladze stressed the importance of US Special Operations Forces' support, notably through joint exercises and operations, in the growth and modernisation of Georgian Special Operations Forces.

The Georgia Defence and Deterrence Enhancement Initiative, which was recently signed with the United States, will further improve Georgia's Special Operations Forces, which the defence minister believes will help the country's resilience and resistance capabilities.

Juansher Burchuladze began his journey to Budapest by meeting with Tibor Benk, his Hungarian counterpart. The Resilience and Resistance Conference, coordinated by the Hungarian Special Operations Command and the United States Special Operations Command in Europe, was subsequently launched by the two defence ministers. Minister Burchuladze also signed a memorandum of understanding with Colonel Attila Lengyel, Deputy Director of NATO's Military Medicine Centre of Excellence in Hungary.
