The Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia met

The Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia met in Minsk, Belarus, on October 14.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said the meeting was initiated by Russia.

According to the Azerbaijani ministry, Jeyhun Bayramov said at the meeting that it is important to fully implement the trilateral statements of November 10 and January 11.

According to the report, the Azerbaijani minister expressed readiness to normalise relations on the basis of the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and inviolability of borders.

He also spoke about the start of negotiations with Armenia on the process of delimitation of borders and the implementation of agreements on the opening of all transport communications in the region.

During the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov demanded that Armenia provide accurate mine maps.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also met separately with his Armenian and Azerbaijani counterparts Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov in Minsk.

"We recently spoke in detail with you in Moscow, but today we can, of course, consider some additional issues in the region at a bilateral meeting. Karabakh should always be in our focus," Lavrov said at a meeting with the Armenian minister.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said that the sides "exchanged views on the full implementation of the trilateral statement and regional issues" on November 10.

Their meeting took place within the framework of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers in Minsk.
